Folks in silly costumes attend KKK rally; so do protesting clowns
11/12/2012Sorry, white supremacists, but those people in the ridiculous costumes aren't laughing WITH you. During a weekend Ku Klux Klan and Neo-Nazi rally in Charlotte, NC, the speeches coming from the hateful side of the street were drowned out by "squeaky toys, whistles and noisemakers" from a big group of counter-protesters, and with every shout of "White Power," the spectators — many of them dressed like clowns — threw handfuls of white flour into the air (the deeper meaning of that is unclear, but hey). "The message from us is 'you look silly [for your racism]'," Lacey Williams of Charlotte's Latin American Coalition said. "We're dressed like clowns and you're the ones that look funny." [Source]
