When they first came inside, the calf's nose was "frozen stiff," according to Imgur user Oakenboken. Bosko plopped down and set up for the long haul to watch over his new friend.

Bosko's owners gave the little calf antibiotics, but no one was sure if he would make it. Bosko looked on while the calf slept.

Even when the dog's owners came in, Bosko refused to leave his baby cow friend's side.

After about four hours, the little guy started moving and his breathing became more regular. The dog's owners gave the calf a stuffed animal to cuddle with.

With his friend on the mend, Bosko relinquished his vigil to his brother Duke. The owners added more blankets and a heater to the calf's bedding.

By morning, the calf looked better and was able to eat a little bit.

On Day 3, Zeke was able to stand, walk around and eat with no problems. He was bottle-fed in the warm chicken coop for another few weeks before the owners put him back out with the other cattle. Now, thanks to his furry friends, he's able to run around with the rest of the herd.

All of us get by with a little help from our friends. But for this little baby calf, those lifesaving friends had furry faces and wet snouts. Imgur user Oakenboken tells the story of how the family’s yellow lab, Bosko, found a shivering baby calf in its ranch's feed lot — freezing, hypothermic and nearly dead. With the help of his human owners, Bosko got the little guy to shelter — and blankets, a heating pad and stuffed animals. Bosko reportedly refused to leave his hoofed friend's side for four hours, until the calf began moving and his breathing grew more regular. At that point, the pup came inside and sent his brother, Duke, out for night shift. As the gallery above shows, six months later Zeke, as the little calf's been named, has made a full recovery.
